1. Audio of AAR panel, "The Study of Religion and Responses to Terrorism: Paris, Beirut, and Beyond"


    As I mentioned, Todd Green and I put together at the eleventh hour for this year's AAR annual meeting a panel discussion regarding the terrorist attacks in France and Beirut. Robert Puckett has kindly shared the audio of that discussion, which you can listen to here. 

    I have also written a pair of posts for Bulletin for the Study of Religion about the panel. The first summarizes our discussion about the shortcoming of media narratives about the terrorist attacks, and the second recounts our conversation about ways in which we as scholars can contribute to public discourse about terrorism and its fallout.
